Council & Committees

There are many groups of people who dedicate their time and effort to our church.  Below, you will find an overview of them!

Council - Manages the affairs of the church with currently five members who are officially elected during the annual meeting of church members for three-year terms.

Benevolence Committee—This committee meets to decide which local humanitarian groups to support and to give individual donations to people in need of food and rent. Its main fundraiser each year is the Fourth of July pie sale.  

Building Maintenance: Supports upkeep of our church.

Congregational Care Ministry Committee—This committee cares for the members of our congregation and their families when they are ill, die, or experience other crises. It also plans special events such as church potlucks.  

Delegates to the Western Association and the Rocky Mountain Conference - 

Attend the annual meetings of these groups and report back to the congregation.

Office Support: Supports administrative tasks for our church, including weekly bulletin.

Outreach Committee - Looks for ways to connect our church to the greater community of Gunnison and meets monthly with our webmaster about ads, our website, and our newsletter, The Holy Enchilada.

PPRC: Pastor, Parish Relations

Stewardship Committee - Invoking financial stability for the church through pledge requests.  

Window Decorations: This group makes our front windows on Main Street beautiful!

Worship Committee - Meets quarterly to organize the major ‘church calendar’ seasons, to discuss the flow of the Sunday service, and plan for upcoming musicians needed.
